FINALLY, I managed to get the real futura from a factory that I can really communicate with.

Futura Hair is not organic, hence it is synthetic, a man made fiber. From all the synthetic hair, Futura has managed to be the closest it can get to real hair, when it comes to manageability, how hard it is to tangle unlike most synthetic, movement and the ability to be styled and withstand heat.

The hair has the highest heat resistance than most synthetic fibers. It claims to be able to handle heat up to 200C or about 400F. The reason for SUCH a high temperature is that professional hair tools that are meant for human hair, can reach very high temperatures and they wanted to make a synthetic that can be used with real human hair that would withstand the same amount of heat. So if someone had her own hair and Futura extensions, she could use her heat tools easily and not fear she would melt the synthetic in her hair.

With this being said, you do not need 200C to treat this hair, much like you do not need 200C to treat your own hair. If you are going to burn Futura, it means you would burn your hair too, this is what the temperature stands for. If you use futura alone, you can use much lower heats, even 100C would do, just be patient. If you use it along with human hair, which is tougher and needs more temperature, you can go as high as 150C or 180C and it will still be there doing its thing. I would suggest 150C max just to ensure the longevity of the hair.

To straighten the hair just pass it with the straightening iron and let it sit straight while it cools. To curl the hair you need to apply heat on a curl pattern and keep that pattern until the hair is cooled. If the hair is still hot, it is still malleable and the pattern can change. The reason you can curl human hair “faster” and easier is that human hair lose the heat much much faster than any synthetic, so passing it through the heated tool, gives the hair the heat and when the hair gets out of the heating tool it almost instantly loses a lot of heat, thus maintaining the shape. Synthetic hair lose heat much slower than human hair, so it needs more time to keep the pattern while it slowly cools down. The benefit though, is that synthetic hair can hold the style until wear and tear changes it super slowly (like brushing, gravity or movement etc) or until heat is applied again. Water doesn’t alter the curl pattern of synthetic hair at all as long as it is not hot.

If the hair becomes somewhat unmanageable, simply wash it, then treat it with heat, style it and it is brand new.
